The community suggested asking for an included/excluded version of the music permit quote, with time limits and the unclear point on the venue says the permit is the couple's job and the amount is not listed. The goal was to close the vague parts before signing.

I would ask first for number of sound points, setup time, lights, microphone, overtime and SIAE/music-permit handling. The image and the case suggest music is part atmosphere and part logistics, so write both into the quote. In this thread, "The DJ quote mentions a licence, but the venue says it is on us" is the line I would use so the supplier understands the problem quickly.

Thank you, this changed how I read the quote. I am now asking for gear, lights, permits, timing and overtime in writing before deciding. In this thread, "The DJ quote mentions a licence, but the venue says it is on us" is the line I would use so the supplier understands the problem quickly.

With a live band, separate live sets, DJ backup and empty moments. A higher quote may include real continuity. I would keep this question open until the supplier replies in writing, because the small unclear line is usually the expensive one. This is my check 1 for "The DJ quote mentions a licence, but the venue says it is on us", so the replies stay on the real case rather than a generic Italy event.

I would ask for a simple included/excluded table with VAT, time limits and cancellation terms. With EUR 420-580, the quote should be readable without chasing calls. For this specific thread, I would write "The DJ quote mentions a licence, but the venue says it is on us" at the top of the supplier recap so everyone answers the same case. This is my check 2 for "The DJ quote mentions a licence, but the venue says it is on us", so the replies stay on the real case rather than a generic Italy event.

Compare only quotes with the same guest count and the same service hours. If one supplier counts five hours and another counts eight, the total is not really comparable. Because the event is in Verona, Veneto, I would also ask who is reachable on the day, not only who sends the quote. This is my check 3 for "The DJ quote mentions a licence, but the venue says it is on us", so the replies stay on the real case rather than a generic Italy event.

I would not negotiate before understanding the vague lines. First close what can still move; then decide whether to remove something or look elsewhere. With EUR 420-580, the useful comparison is the calm one: same hours, same guests, same responsibilities. This is my check 4 for "The DJ quote mentions a licence, but the venue says it is on us", so the replies stay on the real case rather than a generic Italy event.
