Sarah did not send an angry message. She sent a dated recap, named the missing shortlist and asked for a handover file if the planner could not deliver by Friday.

No drama yet, but two emails and one WhatsApp have gone unanswered. We need the supplier shortlist this week.

I would ask first for a calm written recap: what has been paid, what is missing, by when you need it and what happens if they cannot deliver. Keep it factual, especially when the supplier is already slow. In this thread, "Planner stopped replying after deposit: what can we do politely?" is the line I would use so the supplier understands the problem quickly.

Thanks everyone, I am sending the supplier a short list of concrete questions and asking for a closed version. That makes the decision calmer and easier to compare. In this thread, "Planner stopped replying after deposit: what can we do politely?" is the line I would use so the supplier understands the problem quickly.

Ask who will physically be there on the event day in Sorrento, Campania. The person selling the service is not always the person solving problems on site. I would keep this question open until the supplier replies in writing, because the small unclear line is usually the expensive one. This is my check 1 for "Planner stopped replying after deposit: what can we do politely?", so the replies stay on the real case rather than a generic Italy event.

I would ask for a simple included/excluded table with VAT, time limits and cancellation terms. With EUR 3,500 planner fee, the quote should be readable without chasing calls. For this specific thread, I would write "Planner stopped replying after deposit: what can we do politely?" at the top of the supplier recap so everyone answers the same case. This is my check 2 for "Planner stopped replying after deposit: what can we do politely?", so the replies stay on the real case rather than a generic Italy event.

Compare only quotes with the same guest count and the same service hours. If one supplier counts five hours and another counts eight, the total is not really comparable. Because the event is in Sorrento, Campania, I would also ask who is reachable on the day, not only who sends the quote. This is my check 3 for "Planner stopped replying after deposit: what can we do politely?", so the replies stay on the real case rather than a generic Italy event.

I would not negotiate before understanding the vague lines. First close what can still move; then decide whether to remove something or look elsewhere. With EUR 3,500 planner fee, the useful comparison is the calm one: same hours, same guests, same responsibilities. This is my check 4 for "Planner stopped replying after deposit: what can we do politely?", so the replies stay on the real case rather than a generic Italy event.
